1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Codeshots, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the service.

2. Description of Service

Codeshots provides a web-based tool and API for generating syntax-highlighted images from code snippets. The service includes a web editor and an API for programmatic access.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account using a supported authentication provider. Accounts are created through GitHub. By signing in, you authorize Codeshots to receive your email address, name, and profile picture from the provider. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and API keys. You must not share your API keys with unauthorized parties. Account deletion can be requested by contacting us.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service
  • Circumvent rate limits or authentication mechanisms
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Exceed reasonable usage limits or abuse the API
  • Use the service to generate content that infringes on others rights

5. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of any code you submit to the service. Images generated by the service are yours to use. The Codeshots service, including its design and functionality, remains the property of its creators.

6. Limitation of Liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

7. Service Availability

The service is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee any specific level of uptime or availability. We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons.

8. Account Termination

You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany and applicable European Union regulations. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or the service are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Germany.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
